Well Known Farmer, of the Mapleton Area Died on July 28th

Funeral services for Alfred Jensen, 65, a farmer in the Mapleton area for 14 years was held at the St. John’s Methodist church in Mapleton on Saturday, July 30.

Rev. Geo Osborn officiated. Burial was made in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City.
Mr. Jensen died Thursday, July 28th 1955 at a Sioux City hospital. He was born January 28, 1890, at Harlan, Iowa and moved to Monona County as a boy. He lived on farms in the Mapleton area for 41 years.

He married Jesie Revel April 14, 1914 in Mapleton. He was a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and was a Royal Arch Mason.

Survivors include the widow a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Jacobus, of Whittler, Calif: 4 sons, Albert Jr., of Topeka, Kansas: Robert and Beryl, both of Sioux City and William of Mapleton: a brother, Pete of Red Oak, Iowa: 5 sisters, Mrs. Mary Bray and Mrs. Cathilda Little both of Mapleton: Mrs. Martha Swanger, and Mrs. Emma Rawlings, both of Sioux City, and Sophie Jacque of Los Angeles, Calif and 10 grandchildren.
Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Quary Lodge of Mapleton.
