Mrs. Minnie J. Vanness
Former Monona Co. Resident, Dies at Woodbine

Minerva Jane Hellyer was born in Sterling, Illinois April 25, 1859 and died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Fred Long at Woodbine, Iowa.
She with her parents came to Shelby County, Iowa in the year of 1875. Was united in marriage in 1885, to Floyd V. Vanness, who passed away December 19, 1916.

She was united with the Methodist church in the year 1887.

She moved to Monona County in the year of 1909. Resided on a farm near Moorhead, Iowa until the death of her husband, then moved to Pisgah, Iowa where she lived until the last two years which she spent at the home of her niece. One daughter and a son have preceded her in death, Mrs. Edith M. Oliver and Ralph A. Vanness.

To mourn her loss she leaves three children, Mrs. Maude E. Conyers of Mapleton, Iowa, Amos F. Vanness, of Moorhead, Iowa, Tobe N. Vanness of Dunlap, Ia. And 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Xeriffa Martin of Waust, Nebr: and many other relatives and friends.
