Ernest A. Engelke, Ute, Iowa, a Man, Dies in a Sioux City Hospital

Ernest A. (Andy) Engelke, 52, died early Saturday morning, January 27, in a Sioux City hospital following an operation. Mr. Engelke was born in St Clair Township, Monona County, and lived there all his life.

He served overseas in World War 1. He operated an oil station at Ute on Highway No. 141. Funeral services with the Aaby American Legion Post in charge was held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Edna Bartels Engelke, two daughters, Mrs. Velma Jones and Mrs. Thelma Thompson. An only son, Ralph Engelke was killed in the present War last June in France. Several brothers and sisters survive.
