William Kroll, Ute Farmer, Passed Away February 8, 1956Funeral services for William Frederick Kroll, 78, a Ute farmer and carpenter, 55 years old, who died on Wednesday, February 8, 1956, at his home in Ute, after suffering a heart attack, were held on Saturday, at St Paul's Lutheran Church at Ute. Rev Hugo Neting was the officiating minister, and burial was made in St John's cemetery at Charter Oak, Iowa.
Mr Kroll was born September 26, 1877 in Chicago and at the age of 9 years, settled, with his parents in Crawford County. He lived there until he married Emma Bockrlmann February 28, 1900 in Charter Oak. They farmed north of Ute for ten years before moving to Dallis, South Dakota, where they remained two years before returning to the Ute vicinity.
Survivors include the widow: two daughters, Mrs Clarence Hennings, of Sasto Valley, California: Mrs. Arnold Galleges, of Los Angeles, California: three sisters, Mrs Louis Borchardt, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Mrs. John Wellner, of Ute, Iowa: Mrs. John Roost, of Onawa, Iowa: five brothers, Otto of Ute, Iowa: Reinhardt and Chris, both of Onawa, Iowa: Frank of Ricketts, Iowa and Arthur of Dunlap, Iowa: three grandchildren also survive him.
