Mrs. Rosena Mahler
Ute, Iowa- Special: Funeral services for Mrs. Rosena Mahler, 87, longtime resident of Ute who died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Winston Kalskett of Moorhead, Iowa, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran church here. Rev. E.T. Lange will officate and burial will be in St Clair Cemetery at Ute under direction of the Walter funeral home.

Mrs Mahler was born March 12, 1874 near Charter Oak, Iowa. She resided her entire life in the Ute and Charter Oak areas, moving here in 1919.
She was married to Dietric Mahler in 1890, in Crawford County, Iowa. He died in 1940.

She was the last charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. She also was a charter member of the church's Ladies Aid.

Survivors, in addition to the daughter in Moorhead, include a son, Fred of Ute: three other daughters, Mrs Henry Kuhlman of Charter Oak, Mrs Elma Kunze of Ute and Mrs DuWayne Waddell of Portland, Ore: two half-sisters, Mrs Ernest Kroll of Ute and Miss Bertha Bockelman of Denison, Iowa: a half-brother, George Bockelman of Denison, and 18 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
