“SOLDIER, Iowa -- Burnetta J. Melby, 79, of Soldier died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at a Sioux City hosptial.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Soldier Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Solider Lutheran Cemetery. Visititation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Service in Onawa, Iowa.”

Burnetta J. Larson was born January 27, 1927 to Oscar Larson and Virgie (Ball) Larson. Burnetta was baptized in the Christian Church at Ute, and attended school there. Burnetta married Milton Melby, son of John Melby and Sadie (Nelson) Melby, on February 15, 1944. The following children were born to this union: Cheryl LeeAnn "Sherry" (Mrs. Ron Little); Marlyn Sue (Mrs. Ron Kunze); Keith Leroyce and Ricky Rae (both died in infancy); Bryan Milton Melby and Kevin Lee Melby
