Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) Feb. 5 at the Congregational Church at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Bertha Olson, with Rev. Robert Hoeft officiating. Bertha, daughter of Hans and Carrie Evenson, was born August 24, 1891, near Soldier. She died Monday evening Feb. 2, at her home after a short illness of three weeks, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 9 days. She suffered a heart attack January 11 and never completely recovered.

Pallbearers will be nephews of the deceased lady.

Mrs. Bertha Olson is survived by seven children, 20 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband June 28, 1948; and three brothers and three sisters.

January 19, 1910, Bertha Evanson was united in marriage to Olius B. Olson and to this union seven children were born: Mrs. Lloyd Hartwig of Dunlap, Mrs. Leonard Heistand, Mrs. Lawrence Pederson and Russell of Dow City, Virgil of Ute, Raymond of Battle Creek, and Lyle of Denison. She was baptized and confirmed in the Soldier Valley Lutheran Church in the Norwegian language.
