Gilma Lillian Melby Kline, daughter of Adolf and Lena Melby, was born on Sept. 24, 1911, in Monona County, Iowa.

Having been in failing health for a number of years, she died in her sleep on Thursday, April 9, 1987, at her home in Dunlap, Iowa, having attained the age of 75 years, 6 months and 16 days.

She received her education through the 8th grade in Monona County public schools and spent her life as a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian Church of Ute, Iowa.

On June 1, 1928, she was married to Ray Burson of Moorhead, Iowa. This home was blessed with one son and two daughters. Ray preceded her in death on March of 1961. On July 31, 1965, she was married to Herb Kline of Dunlap who preceded her in death in April of 1983.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Survivors are: her son, Gaylend Burson of Dunlap; two daughters, Arlene, Mrs. R. H. Crawford of Fort Dodge, Ia.; Sally, Mrs. Phillip Hartwell of Council Bluffs, Ia.; three brothers, Arnold Melby of Soldier, Dale Melby of Woodbine, Willard Melby of Dunlap; four sisters, Lorraine Price and Agnes, Mrs. Earl Weber, both of Dunlap; Edna, Mrs. Leo Hull of Moorhead and Mildred Andrews of Onawa; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many other relatives.

Services were held in the Congregational Church of Dunlap on Saturday, April 11, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Reimer officiating.

Music was provided by Mrs. Paul Garvin. Organist was Mrs. Bob Klein.

Pall bearers were Duane Melby, Ron Hull, Howard Andrews, Mike Melby, Paul Weber, Roger Melby. Burial was in Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead.
