MISS JOCY CARTER

Miss Jocy Carter, 85, of Whiting, died July 10 in Burgess Memorial Hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. July 13 in the Whiting Church of Christ. The Rev. Richard Lankford officiated. Burial was in the Whiting City Cemetery under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home of Whiting.

Miss Carter was born May 4, 1891, in Glenwood. She moved to Whiting with her parents in 1897. She was a retired school teacher. She taught for two years in Whiting and in Lincoln, Nebr., from 1924 to 1956. She was a member of the Whiting Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution at Onawa and a 50 year member of the Whiting Order of the Eastern Star No. 470.

Survivors include a sister, Miss Ada Carter of Whiting.

(Note: Jocy Irene Carter died 10 Jul 1976.)
