Edward B Shea, 55
Edward B Shea, was born August 22, 1911 at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to John and Francis Shea and passed from this life at St Joseph Hos[ital in Sioux City on December 28. He had reached the age of 55 years, 4 months, 6 days. Death came following a brief illness.
He was united in marriage with Evelyn Engen on May 23, 1934 at Soldier. They lived in Blencoe for 8 years, where he was in the store business with his father. They also lived at Portland, Ore for a year.
Mr and Mrs Shea have made their home in Sioux City for the past 23 years, where he had been employed at the office at the Armour Packing Co. He had also been an agent for the Bankers Life Insurance Co. out of DesMoines and had been assistant manager for the National Fidelity Life Insurance Co. of Kansas City at the time of his death, Ed was a special agent for the National Fidelity Life Insurance Co. He was a member of St Lukes Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, a daughter, Mrs Bernard Schreiber: a son, James E Shea, all of Sioux City: three grandchildren, a brother, Joseph of Chicago, Illinois: a niece, two nephews and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday December 31 at 11 A.M. at the Pearson Funeral Chapel with Pastor Stanley Ecklund of Sioux City officiating. Magnus Jepson sang "Jesus the Very Thought of Thee" and "Beneath the Cross of Jesus".
He was accompanied at the organ by Mrs Magnus Jepson.
Bearers were Wallace Holmberg, Carlos Eskelsen, Clare Dye, Clarence Collison, Miles Olsen and Kleon Ballantyne. Interment was in Onawa Cemetery. Pearson Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
