Hannah E. Phillips, 85 Died Saturday, January 1

Miss Hannah Phillips, 85, and a resident of Castana for the last 65 years, died Saturday January 1st, 1955 at the Onawa hospital after a brief illness.

She had lived with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Pennington at Castana.

Survivors include a brother, Anthony Phillips of Butler, Oklahoma: two nephews, Horton Pennington of Castana and Everett Phillips of Onawa: three nieces, Mrs. Bernice Rose, of Castana, Mrs. Ruth Borchers, of LeMars, Iowa: and Mrs. Ross Willey of Whiting, Iowa, and several other nieces and nephews living in California and Washington.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home in Whiting. Rev T. A. Thompson officiating and burial was made in the Jordan cemetery near Soldier, Iowa
