Homer Allison Kendall

Homer Allison Kendall, the son of Frank and Margaret (McManamy) Kendall was born September 25, 1908 near Ticonic. He died at a Sioux City Hospital on December 13, 1977 having reached the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 18 days.

He grew up and lived in the Ticonic community until moving to the Mapleton area. He married Fauneal Johnson at Onawa, Iowa on October 15, 1932. He moved to California for 18 years and then returned to Mapleton. Due to health he entered a Sioux City nursing home.

He was baptized into the Christian faith as a young man.

Services were held Friday, December 16, 1977 at 10:30 A.M. at the Walter Chapel in Mapleton, Iowa with Rev. Dale Church officiating. Burial was in the St. Clair Cemetery at Ute, Iowa.

Casketbearers were Ralph Crosgrove, James Crosgrove, Francis Davis, Robert Kendall, James Spaulding.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Orma (Homer) DeWitt of Sioux City, Iowa: one son, Joe of Antioch, California: 4 grandsons: 4 brothers, Raliegh of Toledo, Iowa, Frank of Burbank, California, Benny of Blencoe, Iowa, Charles of Jacksonville, Arkansas: 6 sisters, Mrs. Hazel (Howard) Rasmussen of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Grace Jewell of Concord, California, Mrs. Doris Gregerson of Mapleton, Iowa, Mrs. Vida Dowling of Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Leona Nikoleison of Blencoe, Iowa and Mrs. Nina Pickens of Omaha, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
