Mrs John Hughes Died at Omaha Last Sunday

Mrs John Hughes, age 83, died at Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday afternoon following a long illness.
Mrs. Hughes was born September 3, 1870 near Whiting, Iowa and lived in that vicinity all her life. She was married to John Hughes in 1890.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs Jennie Kratz of Whiting, Mrs Rosa Allen of Swift current, Canada, Mrs Hazel Nauser of Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs Josephine Hogancamp of Onawa, Iowa: five sons, Eugene of Whiting, Glen of Omaha, Nebraska, Calvin of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, John of Onawa, Iowa and Milton of Omaha, Nebraska.

Mrs Hughes is also survived by 78 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday June 30, 1954 at the Wood Funeral Home in Whiting with Rev Warren Bintz of the Onawa Methodist Church officiating.

Burial was made in the Harrison Cemetery west of Whiting.
