Willie J. Kruse, 83, Ute, died Thursday in a nursing home at Dunlap of brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Leege will officiate. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery under direction of the Walter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kruse was born July 31, 1896, at Charter Oak. At the age of six, he moved with his parents to the Ute community.

He married Josephine Waderich March 17, 1920, at Ute. They farmed in the Ute and Soldier communities until 1954 when they retired and moved into Ute.

Mr. Kruse was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Layman League and Aaby Post 442, Americal Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include the widow, four sons, August of Sioux City, Raymond of Soldier, Leonard of Ida Grove, and Floyd of Deloit; two daughters, Mrs. Elwin (Marie) Ronk ofDunlap and Mrs. Lloyd (Helene) Bumsted of Ute; a sister, Anna Waderich of Mapleton; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
