You are absolutely correct. The 1911 Atlas is much more than just township maps with family farms listed. It serves as another Mitchell county history book. As I understand it, the 1911 Mitchell county Atlas was a big deal in the county and the door to door volunteers were very welcome in the homes and did a tremendous job of recording this information.
