Janice (Griswold) Hogan, age 86, of Osage, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Julie Schubert officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.
Janice was born June 2, 1929, in Osage, the daughter of Harry and Anna (Wolff) Griswold. Janice graduated from Osage High School. She then attended Nursing School at St. Marys in Rochester, Minnesota, receiving her Practical Nursing Degree.
Janice married Marshall Hogan on May 5, 1973, in Rochester, Minnesota. Janice worked at St. Marys Hospital in the kidney dialysis unit. They then moved to Osage where Janice worked at Osage Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center until her retirement. Janice was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, traveling, camping, fishing, knitting afghans, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Janice is survived by her stepdaughter, Julie Peters and four grandchildren, all of Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Burt Hogan of Osage; sisters-in-law, Vivian Hogan and Madeline Huset, both of Osage; two nieces, Heidi (Hogan) Perrin and Tina Brown, both of Osage; one nephew, Chad (Amy) Olson of Osage; cousins, Carol Power and Deanna (Troy) Machin, all of Osage; many cousins and great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Margaret Berry and Marge Hewitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall “Marsh” Hogan in 2005; brother, James “Jim” Griswold; infant brother, Edward Griswold; and nephew, Scott Olson.
