George Edward Torney was born July 1874 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa to Richard T Torney and Elizabeth Law, the youngest of their five sons.

1885: Richard Torney 49, Edward J Torney 21, Elizabeth Torney 47, Albert R Torney 18, Hogh A Torney 16, Williams H Torney 14, George A Torney 10.

1895: George Edward Torney age 20. Farmer.

George E Torney married Mary Jessie (Dollie) Gray on March 26, 1896 at Mitchell, Iowa. (Dollie b 1871, d September 20, 1898).
The couple had no children.

He next married Myrtle Delphine Auringer on April 5, 1902 at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa. (Myrtle b July 3, 1883, d July 15, 1966).

They had 4 children: Glendon George (1903-1979); Golda Irene (1905-2002); Erma May (1906-1998) and Lloyd D (b 1909).

1915: George E Torney age 40.

George Edward Torney died in June 1916 at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa He was buried at the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa.
