Groe (Guri, Grove) Andersdatter of Elbjorre was born abt 1810 at Nes in Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway to Anders Olsen and Guri Tollefsdatter Elbjorre. (Found birth year discrepancies, using 1810.)

Groe married Mikkel Golberg Rust Tollefson (Tolleivson) on May 12, 1833 at Nes, Buskerud, Norway. Wedding record found in the Norwegian Digital Archives for Nes in Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway, 1824-1834, page 800, entry #30. Married May 12, 1833. Mikkel Tollefsen, age 26 of Goelberg and Groe Andersdatter, age 24 of Elbjor. Groom's father: Tollef Olsen. Bride's father: Anders Olsen

Groe and Mikkel had four children while in Norway:
Guri Mikkelsdatter (b October 6, 1834 at Gol, Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway, d August 14, 1906 at Hartland, Worth, Iowa);

Guri Mikkelsdatter (b June 16, 1837 at Gol, Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway, d January 4, 1919 St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa);

Tollef Mikkelson (b August 1, 1840 at Gol, Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway, d March 21, 1913 St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa) and

Anne Mikkelsdatter (b February 20, 1843 Gol, Hallingdal, Buskerud, Norway, d March 13, 1919 St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The parents and the four children left Norway in the spring of 1845 to emigrate to America. They left Drammen, Norway and traveled on the ship "Skulda" arriving at New York City July 16, 1845. They traveled on to settle at Wisconsin.

2 more children were born while living at Rock Prairie, Rock, Wisconsin:
Leiv Mikkelsdatter (b September 22, 1846 at Rock Prairie, Rock, Wisconsin, d Ocotber 29, 1920 St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa) and

Anders Mikkelson (b August 26, 1850 at Rock Prairie, Rock, Wisconsin, d April 25, 1903 St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa).

Sometime between 1851 and 1855, the family moved west to settle on farmland near St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. Mikkel was issued two land deeds from the Ft Des Moines/U S Government office for 200 acress near St Ansgar, Iowa in 1855.

1870: Michael Tollifson 61, Grove Tollifson 59, Ann Tollifson 26, Louisa Tollifson 23, Andrew Tollifson 20.

Groe Andersdatter Rust Tollefson died July 9, 1873 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. She is buried at the First Lutheran Cemetery, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
