Mrs. Ray Carter Succumbs to Heart Condition

Mrs. Ray Carter, 70, died Tuesday morning in the Mitchell County Memorial hospital of a heart condition. Funeral services at the Champion Funeral Home are pending the arrival of a son from California.

Born Ina Jeffries, at Osage, July 1, 1889, she was the daughter of Fred and Luella Jeffries. She was married in 1907 to Ray Carter. They lived on a farm west of Osage.

Surviving are her husband, two sons: Earl, Norwalk, California, Ernest, Otranto; two daughters, Mrs. C.N. Shoger, McIntire, and Mrs. Lee Hobkirk, Osage; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two brothers: Earl and Charles of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick, and a brother, Jesse Jeffries.
