Ole P Mikkalsen was born March 26, 1846 at Norway.

He emigrated to Wisconsin and married Martha Ivarsdatter Syse (Olsen) in 1867 at Lodi, Columbia, Wisconsin. They soon moved to Cedar township, Mitchell County, Iowa.

The couple had two children:
Lauritz Edward Mikkalsen (b abt 1867, d before 1870 both at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa) and

Clara Eliana (b 1869, d March 7, 1879 both at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.)

Found in the 1870 census living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Ole P Michaelsen 24, farmer; wife Martha 23 keeping house and 1 year old daughter Clara Eliana.

Ole died March 17, 1871 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
