HEART ATTACK VICTIMFuneral services were held Monday afternoon for a well-known Osage man, Leroy Lesch, 63, who died Friday at his home west of Osage. Mr. Lesch died as the result of a heart attack. He had not been ill previously. Rev. R. Smith, church pastor, was in charge of the rites at the United Methodist church. Arrangements were by C.R. Champion and Sons and burial was in the Osage cemetery.
Leroy Rodney Lesch was born on October 3, 1907, at Rudd, Iowa, the son of Herman and Julia Popham Lesch. He attended the Prairie Center rural school near Rockford, and graduated from the Rockford high school.
Eleanore Witt and Leroy Lesch were united in marriage on June 25, 1939, at Plymouth. He was owner of the Lesch Oil Company for many years, selling his business to Tri County Farm Service in 1969. He remained with that firm as petroleum manager until his retirement on January 1, 1971.
Mr. Lesch was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Osage, and served in many official capacities.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanore; two sons, Gene of Des Moines, James, a graduate student at the University of Iowa in Iowa City; two grandchildren; three brothers: Roger of Tucson, Arizona, Byron of Sitka, Alaska, and Donald of Waterloo.
Only his parents preceded him in death.
