Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 1987, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, for Gilbert M. Durben, 82 of Stacyville. Mr. Durben died Sunday, July 5, 1987 at the Stacyville nursing home where he had lived for the past two years.

Rev. C. Manternach will officiate and burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church hall with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a scripture service at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Hatten Funeral Home, Stacyville, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Durben was born on April 4, 1905 at Meyer, to Joseph and Rose (Hemann) Durben. On November 7, 1928 he married Emma Puettman at Stacyville. Mr. Durben lived all his life in the Meyer area until retiring in 1966 to Stacyville. He was a farmer and a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Emma, of Stacyville; a daughter, Mrs. Erland (Dorothy) Smith of Adams, Minnesota; three sons: Marvin of Bloomington, Minnesota, Norman of Austin, Minnesota, and Leon of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; four sisters: Mrs. Eleanore Werner and Mrs. Helen Blake, both of Stacyville, and Mrs. Rena Breister and Mrs. Tony (Lydia) Birschbach, both of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; two brothers, Walter of Stacyville, and Arthur of Meyer; 18 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
