Klara Sophie Horgen was the second child of 10 born to Gulbrand (Gilbert) Gunerius Halvorsen Horgen and Ingeborg Petersdatter of Paulsrud on July 8, 1884 near Clermont, Fayette, Iowa.

Klara moved with her parents to Mitchell County, Iowa in 1886.

She died on July 19, 1890 at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa at plot Z7.
