Peter Melvin Horgen was born November 6, 1887 at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa to Gulbrand Gunerius Halvorsen Horgen and Ingeborg Petersdatter, the third of their ten children.

Peter Melvin Horgen died January 31, 1963 at Charles City, Floyd, Iowa and was buried at the Riverside Cemetery at Charles City, Iowa.

Obituary: CHARLES CITY - P. M. (Mal) Horgen, 75, died Thursday night at the Cedar Valley Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral home Friday by St. Charles Lodge, of which he as a past master.
Married to Cora Wall, November 6, 1915 on Charles City. He was with Frederickson Bros Funeral Home and later with Clarence Lucian in the Lucian and Horgen Funiture Store.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Ames, Charles City; two grandchildren, five brothers and a sister.
