George Theodore Rustand Haugerud was born July 1869 at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Ole the Younger Haugerud and Maren Torine Ask, the second of their ten children.

Found in the 1870 census living at "Haugerud" farm in Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Ole Hougerud 36, Mary Hougerud 24, Laura Hougerud 3, George Hougerud 1, Betsey Larsen 25 (house servant), Iver Ellingson 20 (hired hand).

1879-1899: Lived at Dakota territory, later known as North Dakota, near Grafton, Walsh, North Dakota.

Found in the 1880 census at Drayton, Pembia, Dakota Territory: Ole O. Haugerud 46, Mary Haugerud 33, Laura Haugerud 12, George Haugerud 10, Matilda Haugerud 5, Annetta Haugerud 3, Tolef Johnson 27, Andrew Ask and family living near them, Maren's brother.

Found in the 1900 census at Brannon, Price, Wisconsin:.Ole O Haugerud 64, Maren Haugerud 53, George Haugerud 29, Mathilda Haugerud 24, Otto Haugerud 18, Alfred Haugerud 17, Ida Haugerud 14, Milliard Haugerud 5.

Found in 1904 at Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada.

George married Helga Marie Grafslund. The couple had one son Milner P Haugerud (1909-1985).

George died 1910 at Saskatchewan, Canada. Buried at Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada.
