Hale G. Smith, 88, a former Osage resident, passed away on October 23, 1986 in Bradford, Vermont. He was born in Osage, the son of Arthur D. and Anna Hudson Smith. He had been a research engineer with an aircraft corporation until his retirement.

Hale Smith is survived by his wife, Margaret Lybarger Smith, two sons, hale and Winston, and by four grandchildren.

A Christian Science service and military rites were held in Bradford on October 25, 1986.
