Mary Ellen (Ann) Conlin was born July 7, 1849 at Columbus, Columbia, Wisconsin to Bernard Conlin (1811 Ireland - 1876 Wisconsin) and Hannah Clark (1821 Ireland - 1900 Wisconsin), the first of their seven children. Her siblings (all born at Columbus, Wisconsin) were:
Bridget Nell (born 1851);
Catherine (born April 1853, died 1928 WI);
Thomas Clark (born September 10, 1856, died June 1932 Columbus, WI);
Bernard Henry (born May 1859, died 1940 Wisconsin);
Elizabeth (born March 1862, died 1928 Wisconsin)and
James (born December 1864, died 1936 Wisconsin).

Mary can be found in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses living at Columbus, Columbia, Wisconsin:
1850: Barward Connell 37 (should be Conlin), Hannah Connell 28, Mary Connell 1, Patrick Connell 32.
1860: Rainard Pullen (should be Conlin) 40, Hannah Pullen 32, Mary Pullen 11, Bridget Pullen 9, Catharine Pullen 7, Thomas Pullen 4, Barnard Pullen 2, Fred Cook Pullen 14, Chas Feole 28. \
1870: Bernard Conlan 60, Ann Conlan 50, Mary Conlan 22, Bridget Conlan 19, Catharine Conlan 16, Thomas Conlan 13, Bernard Conlan 11, Eliza Conlan 8, James Conlan 6, Thomas Anthony 20. Mary was teaching school.

Family notes say that Mary married John Edward Dargan on November 22, 1865 at Watertown, Dodge, Wisconsin but the 1870 census conflicts that. They apparently were married around then as their first child, Kate Catherine Dargan, was born April 11, 1867 at Columbus, Columbia, Wisconsin.
They had 10 children after Kate:

Mary (born January 1, 1892 Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa) and
Bernard William (born abt 1892, died abt 1893 Riceville, IA).

Mary Ann Ellen Conlin Dargan died March 12, 1935 at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Calvary Cemetery there.
