Jennie Bell ”Jane” (Fraser) Ferris – 1866-1932

Jane's birth name was Jennie Bell Fraser. She was born March 20, 1866 in Hopewell, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of Donald R. & Margaret Macleod Fraser. In most records, she is listed as Jane.

She married Thomas Ferris 4 Sep 1893 in Lowell, Middlesex, MA. They moved several times as Thomas and his brothers established electrical plants throughout the midwest. They had two daughters in Wisconsin, the second was stillborn.

They eventually settled in Osage, Iowa, but lived with their daughter, Margaret Muth, in Chicago at the end of their lives. Jane was buried first in Waldheim Cemetery in La Grange, Illinois, next to her husband, Thomas.

Both of them were moved in October 1944 to the Osage Cemetery. Their daughter, Margaret and her husband, Merlin Arthur Muth were buried there as well.

She died October 13, 1932 in LaGrange, Cook County, Illinois.
