STACYVILLE, IOWA - Carl Klapperich, 92, of Stacyville, died on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the Stacyville Nursing Home.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Oratory, Meyer, Iowa, with Father Jack McClure, CPPS, officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meyer.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, April 30, from 4-8 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Oratory, Meyer, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a scripture service at 7 p.m.

STACYVILLE, IOWA - Carl Henry Klapperich, 92, of Stacyville, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2012, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the Sacred Heart Oratory, Meyer, with the Rev. Jack McClure, CPPS, officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meyer.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 30, at the Meyer church, with a rosary at 4:30 and prayer and remembrance service at 7 p.m.
Carl was born July 12, 1919, at his home in Meyer, to Bernard and Rosa Klapperich. He attended school in Meyer and served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945, when he married his sweetheart, Catherine Hackenmiller (Caddy) on Oct. 3, 1945, at Sacred Heart Church in Meyer. They celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Carl farmed most of his years in Meyer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Hale Penney Fuller Post 569 of the American Legion in Stacyville.

Carl was a loyal Hawkeye and Twins fan. He also loved bowling, golf, cards, beanbag, and most important, just spending time with Caddy and his children and grandchildren. He was devoted to his wife and family, exemplifying his values to his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, John, Isidor, Lawrence, Fred, Leo, Wilfred and Norbert; and one sister, Hildegarde Halbach.

Carl is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Charlie (Laurie), Norman (Marcia), Joel (Jane) and Jan (Sheila); daughters, Ann (Bill) Papas, Karen (Marc) Schumann; twenty-one grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Elizabeth and three sisters-in-law, Esther Klapperich (Lawrence), Estelle Klapperich (Wilfred) and Mary Ann Klapperich (Norbert).
