Henry P. West

Henry P. West was born in Chautauqua county, New York, December 5, 1847, and passed away at St. Ansgar, Iowa, on Tuesday, April 10, 1928, at the age of 80 years.

When he was three years old the family moved to Buffalo, N. Y., and in 1854 they came to the old town of Otranto, being among the first settlers of Mitchell county. In his young manhood, Mr. West worked in many different communities, moving to St. Ansgar in 1892, where he resided thirty-six years.

During the past few winters he had been in poor health, but as spring came he always managed to get out again. The funeral was held at the home last Thursday afternoon, conducted by hte Rev. O. H. Moore, and interment was in the St. Ansgar cemetery.

He is survived by his widow and two sons, Charles of St. Ansgar, and Lewis of Minneapolis.
