WILHELM SCHMIDT

Wilhelm Schmidt, 83 years old, died last Friday evening at his home in Mitchell. He was born in Germany, and when a young man he served in the Franco-Prussian war of 1870, where he lost part of a foot in a fierce engagement.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Gustave Feldt of St. Ansgar; William of Osage, and Irene and Olga at home.

The funeral servcies were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Mitchell Community church, the Rev. Carl Landdeck of Grafton in charge. Burial took place in the cemetery at Mitchell.
