Death of Charles Perry

On Monday, the first day of November, Charles Perry was taken sick. He had been to church the day before and in his usual health. He grew rapidly worse and developed a severe case of brain fever. On Sunday in the forenoon, Nov. 7, 1897, he died, having been sick just seven days. The funeral was on Tuesday and was largely attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives. The services were conducted by Rev. B. D. Smith, of the M. E. church. The relatives from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Taylor of Nashua, parents of Mrs. Perry, and Milton Perry of Charles City, a brother of deceased. Another brother is pastor of the M.E. church at Claremont, Iowa, but was unable to attend.

Deceased was born at Ashford, Wis. Dec. 27, 1861. Since 1868 he has lived in Iowa at Charles City where in 1886 he was married to Miss Flora Taylor, who survivies him to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted husband. The breaved widow has the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
