OBITUARY.

Patience Olive Abbey died at her home in Lincoln Twp., Nov. 8, 1897. She was born in New York state November 5, 1825 and was married to Joel Whitcomb January 4, 1846. With her husband she came to Illinois in 1865 and from there to Michell County in 1870, where they have since resided. Two children were given to this union, one, S. F. Whitcomb surviving.

She was converted in 1864 and has since lived a faithful Christian life. She was a faithful patient wife, and mother. Her husband and son and many friends mourn her loss.

The funeral services were held at the old homestead, conducted by Rev. P. N. Dwelle and the interment was at Osage.
