MRS. BEHRNS IS DEAD AT OSAGE
SECOND IN ORCHARD FAMILY SUCCUMBS IN PERIOD OF 17 DAYS

Osage – Mrs. P. G. Behrns, 63, died Tuesday in Nissen Hospital of heart disease, 17 days after the death of her only child, Lester.

The Behrns family was preparing to return to the farm near Orchard to live when all were stricken with flu and pneumonia. Mr. Behrns is still weak.

She is survived by her husband, grandchild, Janice; mother, Mrs. Mary McFarland, Osage; and brother, Francis of Long Beach.

Funeral services will probably be held Friday at the Champion Funeral Home with burial at Osage.

Martha Eleanor McFarland was born May 1875 in Iowa, the daughter of Robert McFarland and Mary (Doole) McFarland. She married Peter Gabriel Behrns, the son of Peter Behrns Sr. and Sarah (Lesch) Behrns.

They had one son John Lester Behrns who was born January 24, 1899 in Floyd, Iowa and died March 20, 1939.
