Mary Dunlay, Well
Known Riceville
Woman, Passes OnMiss Mary Dunlay died at Nissen Hospital Tuesday morning at 7:30 o'clock, following an illness of about a week from anemia. Miss Dunlay had been in her usual health up to that time - or so it was thought. She was brought to the hospital, where a blood transfusion was administered in an effort to save her life, but the disease was too far advanced to be checked.
Miss Dunlay was born on a farm near Bailey 41 years ago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Dunlay. She received her education in the Riceville schools, and for many years owned a millinery shop there. The past few years, however, she has been at home at Bailey.
Surviving are her mother; her brother, Robert (who has operated the home farm since the father's death some years ago); her sisters, Catherine, at home; Mrs. Venie Weber, Little Cedar; Ellen, who is married and living in Missouri; and Mrs. Melvin Meyer, Osage.
Funeral services were held today at the Catholic church in Riceville, with burial in the cemetery there.
