MEINZER, Marie Dorothea 1855-1913

Marie Dorothea Jahn was born on May 1, 1855 in Lorenzhof, Germany. At the age of 15 she came to the United States and settled at Ives Grove, Wisconsin. In 1875 she moved to Iowa.

On June 8, 1873, she married John Philip Meinzer. They were the parents of ten children, namely: Marie, August, Augustus, Wilhelmina, Philip, Lennie, Charlotte, Frank Harvey, Frank Emil, and George.

Services were conducted on November 7 by the Rev. Karl Rudolph of St. Peter's Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, John; and five children, Philip, Charlotte, F. Harvey, Frank and George.
