Osage – Ernest Blunt, 68, died suddenly at Big Lake, Minnesota, at midnight Sunday. The body will be brought to Charles City Monday, accompanied by his wife, the former Ina Conner.

He was a former resident of Charles City and Osage, and was a stockman and farmer many years.

He had lived at Big Lake about three years.

Survivors also include two brothers; Walter and Barney, Blunt, Charles City.
Funeral will probably be Wednesday at Charles City, with burial there.

ERNEST BLUNT FUNERAL HELD
STOCK BUYER WAS ONCE CHARLES CITY CITIZEN

Charles City – Funeral services were to be held at the Hauser Funeral Home here Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 for Ernest Everett Blunt, 68, a former resident of Charles City, who died suddenly Sunday morning at the Brown Hotel in Big Lake, Minnesota, following a heart attack.

The Rev. Joseph G. Morgan, pastor of the First Congregational Church, was to officiate and burial was to be made in Riverside Cemetery. The body arrived here Tuesday morning from Big Lake.

Mr. Blunt was a stock buyer and has been a resident of Big Lake for 8 years.

He was born August 6, 1876, near Mt. Vernon, Missouri, the son of Hezekiah and Elizabeth (McCauley) Blunt, and soon after moved to Charles City with his parents who operated the well- known Blunt farm half a mile north of Charles City.

On December 1, 1924, he was married to Miss Ina Conner, of Osage, who survives.

Also surviving are 3 brothers, Walter C; Barney B; and Grover C, Blunt, all of Charles City.

Ernest married Ina May Conner (1879-1949) , the daughter of James Conner and Nancy (Fizell) Conner of Osage. Her parents are buried in the Osage Cemetery.
