STACYVILLE FARMER IS DEAD; WIFE AND SEVEN CHILDREN ARE SURVIVORS

Stacyville – John Blake, farmer southeast of here, died early Friday.

Surviving are his wife and seven children. Funeral services will be held Monday at Visitation Church.

FUNERAL OF JOHN BLAKE IS HELD AT STACYVILLE

Stacyville – Funeral services were held Monday for John Blake, 71, who died after a six month’s illness.
Left are his wife and seven children.

Pallbearers were nephews, Corbin, Gilbert, Ernest, Edwin, Willie and Leo Blake.

He retired from farming six years ago and moved to Meyer. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Society.

John Adam Blake was born March 5, 1865 in Mitchell Co., Iowa, the son of Philip Blake and Justina (Smith) Blake. He married Susanna Hemann, the daughter of Mathias Huemann and Diana (Schneider) Huemann. (The spellings Hemann, Huemann, Humann or single n’s are all used by the relatives of this family)

Children surviving him were:

Anna Maria Blake Blaser (1887 - 1964)
Helen Anna Blake Hackenmiller (1890 - 1988)
Carl Blake (1892 - 1975)
Regina Blake Pint (1894 - 1972)
Kathryn Blake Halfman (1896 - 1949)*
Isabell Frances Blake Halfman (1898 - 1989)
Albert J Blake (1901 - 1987)
Raymond J Blake (1903 - 1971)
