ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Winifred M. Clausen, 96, of St. Ansgar, died Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2005) at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, with a 5 p.m. prayer service.

Winifred M. Clausen

MASON CITY — Winifred M. Clausen, 96, of St. Ansgar died Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2005) at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home with a Scripture service at 5 p.m.

Winifred was born Aug. 19, 1908, in Mason City to John Henry and Grace (Hemenway) Tisor. She married Martin Rasmussen who was later killed in a gasoline explosion.

She married Clarence Clausen on August 24, 1946 in Mason City. They lived on a farm near David, Iowa, moving to St. Ansgar in 1976. She enjoyed spending time and playing cards at the Senior Saints Center in St. Ansgar, where she had been president for four years. She loved to be around and talk with people. Winifred enjoyed bingo in her later years as well as traveling.

Winifred is survived by two sons, Archie Rasmussen of Mason City and Roger Rasmussen of Nora Springs; two daughters, Darlene Summer of Floyd and Alice Clausen of Osage, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three sons, three daughters, five brothers, two grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.
