1859 – S. F. McGillivray -- 1954
Simon Frazer McGillivray, died December 8, 1954 in Austin, Minnesota. He was the son of James and Elizabeth Kelso McGillivray. He was born January 5, 1859, in Quebec, Canada. He lived there until the age of 11 when he moved with his parents to a farm near LeRoy, Minnesota.

In young manhood he located in Carpenter, Iowa, dealing in livestock, grain and implements. On June 9, 1896, he was united in marriage to Katherine Beischel. Two sons were born to them, Leslie Simon and Alois James, both of whom have preceded him in death.

In 1914 he moved to Osage for five years, dealing in real estate. Before moving to Austin in 1921, he and his family lived on a farm, near Rock Creek, for two years.

Mr. McGillivray had been a resident of Austin for 33 years. He had been a member of the Methodist Church during that whole time, enjoying the privilege of working in the Sunday school and participating in other activities. He was a most faithful attendant at the church services, up to within months of his death.

Simon Frazer McGillivray was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Mower Co, Minnesota.

Simons first wife was Lisette Kleinwort, the daughter of C. Adolph and Charlotte Kleinwort. She was born October 12, 1859 and died July 12, 1894 in Carpenter, Iowa. She was buried with her parents in the Newberg Cemetery.
