Vincent "Rusty" Dunlay, 65, of Joplin, Missouri, a former New Haven area resident, died Monday, August 8, 1986, at a Joplin, Missouri, hospital.
A funeral Mass will be held in Joplin, Missouri. Locally, visitation is at St. Peter's church in New Haven after 9 a.m. Friday, with a rosary service at 10:30 am, at the church, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. John Carpenter will officiate.
Champion Funeral Home in Osage is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Dunlay was born April 10, 1921, at Riceville to Vincent J. and Tillie (Kleckner) Dunlay. He married Virgilia Fox on Aug. 14, 1948. He was a veteran of World War II , serving in central Europe.
He farmed in the New Haven area until 1975, when he moved to Seneca, Missouri, where he operated a package liquor store. He retired in 1983 and moved to Joplin, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Virgilia, Joplin, Missouri; his mother, Tillie Dunlay, New Haven; three daughters, Mary Stoll, Utica, Neb.; Jeanne Kubicek, Keokuk, and Sheila Sonberg, Fulton, Illinois; eight sons, Ed, Anchorage, Alaska; Bill, Rochester, Minnesota; Jerry, Prescott, Ariz.; Mark, Evansville, Indiana; Jim and Dean, both of Joplin, Missouri; Doug, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Dave, Sherman, Texas; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Kate Zoebeck, Riceville and Dorothy Fox , New Haven; and four brothers, Jim, Manson; Keith, Waterloo; Rex, New Haven, and Terry, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
