Joseph P. Miller, youngest son of John and Johanna Weber Miller was born May 20, 1884 on the home farm near New Haven. His education was in the local schools. In 1908 he began farming with the brother, Matt, and continued on the same place until his death.

On January 6, 1920, he was united in marriage to Etta Scully at Elma. She died in 1923.

Mr. Miller became ill in December and was taken to Rochester where he submitted to n operation. He was later brought to the Savre Hospital in Osage where he died March 11.

Surviving are two brothers, Matt and Peter of New Haven; two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Clara) Fox of new haven and Mrs. Elizabeth Devaney of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his wife and parents, two brothers, John and Frank, six sisters, Mary Miller Green, Anna Miller Foxen, Katherine Miller Byers, Gertrude Miller, Angeline Miller Johanns and Jennie Miller Noone.

Funeral services were held at St Peters Catholic Church in New Haven, the first funeral to be held in the new structure. The Rev Leo Entringer officiated at the requiem High Mass. Interment was in the cemetery near the church.

Relatives from away attending the funeral were Wm. Byers and three sons, Harley, Howard and Glendon of Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Yourell and Yolanda of Dubuque; Mrs. Tillie Schmidt and Nick Weber of Stewartville, Minn.; Fred Claas of Menomonee Falls, Wisc.; Miss Kate Rammeler, Henry, Joe, and Frank Miller of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Bertha Scully and daughter, Mable of Austin Minn.
