Ellery James Foster 1859-1946

Riceville – Ellery Foster, 86, former Riceville resident died at Anoka, Minnesota on March 21. He was born in Riceville and lived here until he moved to Minnesota 46 years ago. His wife, the former Emma Root of Riceville, died in 1934.

He leaves four children, Ethel Brown, Battle Creek, Mich.; Gail Foster, Anoka; Inez Bell, in northern Montana; and Harold, Minneapolis, Minn.

Ellery James Foster was born August 1859 in Iowa, the son on James Caldwell Foster and Laura Lovina (Curtis) Foster. He married Emma Louise Root, the daughter of Austin Root and Maryette (Thomas) Root.
