SON-IN-LAW OF MRS. JULIA MARTIN IS BURIED HERE
Henry Douglas Died Last Week in Albert lee, Minn.
Last Thursday the body of Henry Douglas of Albert Lea, son-in-law of Mrs. Julia Martin, was brought here for burial. The following tribute was paid him by the Albert Lea Tribune.
"Henry Douglas, was born in St. Paul Minn. Jan. 1888, and departed this life Nov. 5, 1928. While a small boy he made his home with his aunt, Mrs. Moffitt in St. Paul, where he attended school and worked at anything he could find to do to in some measure repay for his care. At an early age he was thrown upon his own resources and from then on he struggled on and up to manhood alone. It can be truly be said of Mr. Douglas that he was a self-made man.
"Some 25 years ago he came to Albert Lea and has resided here since. He worked for some years for the late Mr. Seiglaff and for the past six years he has been employed at the Broadway theater.
"He was married Nov. 28, 1920 to Miss Kate Martin of Osage, Iowa. During the time he has resided in Albert Lea he has made many friends by whom he will be greatly missed. One of them who knew him best said "In all these years I have never known Mr. Douglas to say an unkind word of any one." He was faithful to duty, kind, upright, and considerate to others, a true friend and a good neighbor. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Henry Douglas and his mother Mrs. Ramond of Billings, Mont., and other relatives."
