Mrs. Rob Sewright
Died Wednesday
After Long Illness

Mrs. Robert Sewright, 72, passed away at her home on east Mechanic street Wednesday afternoon, after an illness of seven months that followed several strokes of paralysis.

Nancy Kyle-Sewright

Nancy Alice Kyle, daughter of James and Sarah Jane Kyle, was born in Rock county, Wisconsin, near Lima, on June 4, 1866, and died in Osage, Iowa, February 22, 1939.

She grew up in the community where she was born, attending the public schools there. When she was eight years old her mother died. She continued to live with her father and family until her father died in 1895. Following this she went to live with her sister, Abbie, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, where she spent five and a half years.

On February 20, 1901, she was married to Robert Sewright at Whitewater, Wisconsin, having known her husband since girlhood. They came to Iowa, making their home first in East Lincoln township and living there two years, then they purchased a farm in West Lincoln. On this farm they lived until Mr. Sewright passed away on January 20, 1923. To this union was born one daughter, Margaret Arlene.

Upon Mr. Sewright's death Mrs. Sewright and her daughter came to Osage, where they have since lived.

As a girl she united with the Lima Presbyterian church. On April 1, 1923, she became a member of the Osage Congregational church and has been an active member of the Ladies' Aid. She was also a member of the Womens' Relief Corps and of the Osage Naturalist club.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Arlene Naig, a grandson, Paul Robert, one sister, Miss Abbie Kyle, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, and one half-brother, W. J. Vance, of Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held at the Champion funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Stiles Lessly, and burial beside her husband in the Orchard cemetery.
