Mrs. Pearl Sykes**
Buried Here This Afternoon

The body of Mrs. Pearl Sykes, who died suddenly at her home in Fullerton, California arrived here yesterday evening, and was taken to the home of her brother, Elmer Enfield, and burial made this afternoon.

The cause of her death is not known, and the first intimation of anything was a telegram to her mother, Mrs. Nora Enfield, of Austin, announcing the death. The shock was severe to the mother and a neighbor, Mrs. Donald McDougall, accompanied her to Osage.

Lily Pearl Enfield was born at Roseville, Illinois, February 5, 1887. With her parents she moved to Jasper County, Iowa at the age of 4 years. Here she spent her childhood days and attended the public schools.

In 1916 she was united in marriage with Therman Sykes in Omaha, Nebraska. Her husband being a contractor, his business took them through the northwest and finally to California. Here she made her home for several years.

During the World war she became a nurse and has displayed a natural ability for this work.

She passed away at Fullerton, California on March 20, 1924, at the age of 37 years, 1 month and 15 days.

She leaves to mourn her loss her father, her mother, three brothers, Elmer and Elga, living at Osage, Arlie, at Minneapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle McIntire, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Ethel Newell, of Shell Rock, Iowa.

Her remains were brought to Osage for interment and services will be conducted by Reverend W. T. Smith at the Osage chapel, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock.

**Apparently the newspaper misspelled the surname as Sykes instead of Sikes.
