C. O. BLANCHAR DIES AT OSAGE
Osage – C. O. Blanchar, 82, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday as the result of a stroke suffered Monday.

He was born in Wisconsin and came to Osage as a young man, marrying Sarah King here in 1884. He is survived by a son, Claud of Milwaukee, Ore.; a brother, Dr. W. O. Blanchar of Los Angeles and a sister, Mrs. Fred Hammond of Osage. The family had lived in Waterloo for many years.

Mr. Blanchar came to Osage two years ago from the west to make his home with his sister, Mrs. Hammond.

His son Claud Willmot Blanchar (WWI Draft Registration info) was born October 21, 1881 and died in 1958 in Multnomah Co., Oregon. His wife, Sarah may have died there too. Theres an Oregon death record for a Sarah Blanchar who died April 6, 1942 Milwaukee, Clackamas Co., Oregon.
He was the son of Otis and Mary Blanchard (Blanchar?). In the 1895 Iowa Census his parents are listed with the surname Blanchar and the Osage Cemetery Records lists them as Blanchard.
His brother mentioned in this obit was: William Otis Blancher born April 18, 1874 in Osage, Mitchell, Iowa (birth place was in a couple passenger lists found in California. He died November 5, 1955 in Los Angeles County, California.
