HANSON, LOWE, MAASBOL

Last Thursday at the home of her son, H.P. Hanson, who resides five miles east of here in Mitchell township, Mrs. Hans Peter Hanson died at the advanced age of 70 years. She had been an invalid for many years.

Annie Marie Hanson, whose maiden name was Lowe was born at Hostrop togn, Schleswig March 11, 1828. Eight children were born to them, two died in infancy and the only daughter, Mrs. M. Maasbol, who died seven years ago. Those living who were all present at the funeral, are as follows: Chris, who lives near Osage, Ed, who lives at McIntire, and Hans, Adolph C. and Peter all of whom resides east of St. Ansgar. There are also twelve grandchildren. In June of 1871 they came to America and coming directly to St. Ansgar and then residing on their farm until the health of Mrs. Hanson failed some years ago when they sold the farm and went to live with their daughter, Mrs. M. Maasbol and remained there until the latter's death since which time they have lived at homes of their sons Hans and Peter.

Mrs. Hanson was a devoted wife and mother, a firm believer in God and while her sufferings were severe she never murmered but waited patiently for the end trusting ever in her Savior.

The funeral was held at the Norwegian Lutheran church at St. Ansgar, Saturday, November 12, Rev. Olsen officiating.
