J. J. BALL, FORMER RESIDENT OF OSAGE, DIES AT ROCHESTER

Osage – Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the Champion Funeral home in charge of the Rev. Sterling Baldwin of Rudd for J. J. Ball, 75, who died Thursday afternoon at the Colonial hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, from heart disese and complications.
Mr. and Mrs. Ball moved to Rochester from Osage four years ago.

Surviving are his widow Margaret of Rochester, Minn., and seven sisters; Mrs. John Miller; Mrs. Sile Kelley; and Miss Georgia Ball, all of Osage; Mrs. Lucy Shellhammer of Holton, Oregon; Mrs. Henry Armstrong of Spokane, Washington; Mrs. George Knige of Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Fred Watson of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Burial will be in the Osage cemetery.

James John Ball was born August 13, 1866 in Illinois, according to the 1900 Census and also a couple family trees on ancestry.com. He was the son of Brinsley Ball and Sarah Jane (Richards) Ball. He is buried in the Osage Cemetery. There is also a tombstone J. J. Ball, that has 1872-1941 (which has the wrong birth date), according to the census, family trees and age on this obit.
He married Margaret (maiden name unknown) who is also buried in the Osage Cemetery 1877-1956 and theres a tombstone for her and Iowa Gravestone records say her tombstone is nest to J. J. Ball.
