Mrs. Frank Chatman

Mrs. Frank C. Chatman died suddenly at her home this morning at 3 a.m. after only a few hours of illness. She and Mr. Chatman had spent the evening at the C. R. Champion home and left for their home at about 10 p.m. At her door Mrs. Chatman suddenly fell. She was carried to her bed, and passed away five hours later.

Mrs. Chatman was 65 years of age, and we believe had spent most of her life in this county. She and Mr. Chatman are parents of one daughter, Mrs. Roy Richards, of near Orchard.

The hour of funeral services are uncertain at this time.

Mrs. Chatman Funeral Is Conducted at Osage

OSAGE, IOWA – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Stiles Lessly of the Congregational church for Mrs. Frank Chatman, 65, who died suddenly at her home here Thursday. Maggie Hill, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Hill was born March 14, 1871 in Floyd County. Later she was married to Frank Chatman and they made their home here the past 16 years.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Roy Richards and a brother, George Hill of Phoenix, Ariz.

MRS. FRANK CHATMAN

Maggie L. Hill was born in Floyd county, Iowa, March 14, 1871, the daughter of John and Julia Hill. She was married to Frank Chatman on December 30, 1891, and they made their home on a farm in West Lincoln township until 1920 when they moved to Osage, which has been her home since.

In April, 1924, she united with the First Congregational church of OSage and was an active member as long as health permitted. In the church she was also a member of the Ladie's Aid and the Harmony Club.

She leaves to mourn her going, her husband; her daughter, Mrs. Roy Richards, and husband; one brother, George Hill, of Schurz, Nevada; besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Champion funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large audience of friends and relatives by her pastor, Rev. Stiles Lessly, with burial in the Osage City Cemetery.
